Glycerin

گلیسیرین مایع

Glycerin is a viscous, odorless, and clear liquid obtained by hydrolysis of fats and is widely used in industry. Glycerin is used in the hygiene, cosmetics industries as well as producing clear soaps in soap industry. Moreover, Food grade of this material is widely used in food industry. This product is packed in coated metal barrels with a net weight of 250 kg in Kimia Charb.

Glycerin, or glycerol, is a three-agent alcohol dissolved in water and ethanol in any proportion due to its hydrogen bond; as a subset of sugar alcohols, Glycerol is sweet, clear, colorless, odorless, and viscous, which loses water in the presence of heat and water-repellent materials and turns into a stinky aldehyde. The formation of acrolein is the detection method of glycerol. Glycerol has 3 hydroxyl groups, responsible for its solubility in water. Glycerin is the same as glycerol; for example, glycerin syrup contains 99.7% glycerol.

Glycerol is naturally present in foods and is usually associated with fatty acids in the human body and forms triglycerides, which are lipids; nevertheless, glycerol is not a lipid and carbohydrate as an independent molecule. When triglycerides are digested, they are broken down into glycerol and fatty acids.

In nature, Glycerol is mostly combined with fatty acids that make fat. For example, a molecule of glycerol with 1 or 3 fatty acids forms a monoglyceride or triglyceride; such as vegetable oil. Glycerin or TCC glycerol is a simple poly-oil compound that is soluble in water due to the presence of hydroxyl (-OH) groups attached to carbon atoms. These hydroxyl groups are also responsible for the micrometry nature of glycerol that is holding or absorbing water.
